一直从事代谢物失调与人类疾病研究并取得突出成绩。作为主要参与者发现IDH1突变导致细胞内代谢物α酮戊二酸降低并导致HIF通路的激活是胶质瘤的可能病因(Science,2009);证实IDH1突变产生的2-HG通过抑制α酮戊二酸依赖的双加氧酶改变细胞表观遗传性状(Cancer Cell,2011);进而作为共同通讯作者发现2-HG还可以诱发线粒体高琥珀酰化而促进肿瘤发生(Molecular Cell,2015)。此外,申请人在代谢调控领域也做出重要贡献,作为主要作者发现代谢酶的乙酰化可以通过协调代谢通路实现对代谢物稳态调控(Science, 2010),实现代谢基础理论的突破并为代谢相关疾病的成因提供新的解释,相关技术被邀请写入Methods in Biology专门章节,成为国际通用方法。系列成果在国际上引起高度关注,2009年及2010年发表的Science论文单篇他引均超过700次(Google Scholar, 截至2015年11月);Cancer Cell 论文结论编入R. Weinberg主编的The Biology of Cancer,5年他引超过740次,成为国内发表Cancer Cell论文中他引最高的论文(Cancer Cell自结论)。2015年发表的Molecular Cell 论文发表后迅速被美国癌症协会旗下最好刊物Cancer Discovery专文介绍。
